The heartfelt, passionate reading of the Prokofiev Sonata is matched by the intensely personal expression in Stanley Chepaitis's original compositions. I found that the excellence in one genre gave credibility to the other methods of expression. I believe that as we prepare our students for musical life in the 21st Century this type of flexibility and diversity of approach is increasingly important.
